Jan Doyle Band
Doncaster’s own post punk industrial electro experimenters, JDB have been going since 1996 but have only been a live act since 2011. Since then they have gained a reputation for flamboyant and powerful live performance and have played gigs from Liverpool to Northampton and earlier this year supported the legendary Toyah Willcox.
Again hailing from Doncaster but offering a sound that is very difficult to pin down and that entirely works to their benefit. Here are gushes of a truly warped, sinuous fusion of beats n bass, (bad) acid and psych-prog/electronica/sampladelia; the bones of Burroughs and Rhinehart ground up and snorted.
They’ve been away for a while and this is going to be an exciting return for them.
coming up to Doncaster from Kent, 3D play a punky artpop fusion. Often juxtaposing beautiful synthetic backings with brutalist lyrics and vocals. Also renowned for being a phenomenal live act, it’s powerful and stirring.
Dean of the band also co-hosts the excellent Bluetown Electronica show.
