DEFSYNTH Vs Halloween, 27th October Stag’s Head Hoxton

Black Light Ascension

Minimal post-punk inspired stripped raw dance tracks and mechanized angst and paranoia. Joy Division, Birthday Party, DAF, Chrome, TG, Wall of Voodoo, Clock DVA with a dash of Front 242…

She Made Me Do It

She Made Me Do It are a London two-piece New Wave Electronica style band made up of Shaheena Dax (Rachel Stamp) on Vocals and Keyboards with Will Crewdson (Rachel Stamp/Scant Regard/Adam Ant/Bow Wow Wow/Flesh For Lulu/Johnette Napolitano/The Selecter) on Guitars and Keyboards

Jan Doyle Band

Insurrectionary Neo Futurists weaving their flamboyant and spectacular way through goth, industrial, punk, post punk and synthpop with stunning live performances that are never the same twice.

Dead Blood Cells

Dead Blood Cells were formed in very early 2017 in Medway, bringing together a number of influences including Darkwave, Electro-Industrial and more of those tricky Post-Punk genres. Through the first year they had a number of well received outings, and after some line up changes, are refining their sound with a new set. It is a marriage of hauntingly sweet dark vocals with industrial noise and post-punk/Goth guitar

Defsynth (DEFSYNTH.COM) & AnalogueTrash ( finally come together bringing you a night of exciting live alternative electronic music. Starring the wonderful talents of (And this doesn’t necessarily represent the band running order on the night)

Imagine Giorgio Moroder and David Gilmour battling the Radiophonic Workshop across the streets of Neo Tokyo on Saturday Morning TV, this is the sound of ded.pixel. Blurring the lines between experimental and contemporary electronics and combined with a pulsing backbone of raw echoing guitars.

DP have gone from strength to strength in the last couple of years with amazing support slots for the likes of Covenant and many brilliant festival appearances.

DEF NEON are a band who fuse elements of indie-rock, electro, synthpop and bass music to create a sound that has been described by critics as energetic, intense and unique. The resulting sound has proved popular with live event organisers and club promoters alike, leading to support slots with 65daysofstatic, Death in Vegas, The Orb, Pop Will Eat Itself , The Algorithm and Sonic Boom Six.

They completely explode every event they play with audiences frequently clammering for more.

Self described as “Wonky DIY synth/guitar noisepop made by Sarah, Chris and Ange.” Duck are a decidedly delightful entity combining an almost L7 like sound with elements of a mid 80s punky sensibility.

Using often home made and modified equipment they excite and delight in noise whilst not forgetting about having damn good songs.

Jan Doyle Band

The champions of their own INSURRECTIONARY NEO FUTURIST movement, JDB fuse many genres of from industrial through synthpop, punk and goth. An androgynously flamboyant and spectacular engaging stage presence that is unique among the live scene today.

With ever changing set lists you can be guaranteed of something of a surprise every time from this ever unpredictable duo.

St Lucifer
Manchester-based Industrial/Anti-Pop/Noise four-piece suggest late poet Dorothy Parker could have been seeing into the future and thinking of them when she wrote:
“Razors pain you, rivers are damp, acids stain you and drugs cause cramp. Guns aren’t lawful, nooses give, gas smells awful – you might as well live.”

They are known for commanding and somewhat anarchic live punky influenced performances. Or perhaps it’s best summed up with the following:

Following these acts we will have a fabulous DJ night from Anointed

Making a huge impact in the Manchester club scene with two fabulous packed events already. They represent an alt.queer celebration, playing a deliciously dark selection of leftfield pop, indie, alternative and electronic music designed for dancing. It’s a fusing of many different styles with no boundaries. Because good music shouldn’t be kept apart.

DOLLS was born in mid-2009 as the more offensive byproduct of a commercial pop career gone AWOL. Drawing her influence from Joy Division, Madonna and Depeche Mode, DOLLS juxtaposes apocalyptic pop vocals with gritty lyricism, creating a uniquely dark synthpop signature.

DOLLS’ inimitable style has enchanted international artists of all descriptions (Salman Rushdie is a fan and Rough Trade‘s Carole Pope described SECRET SULK as “The Best Album Ever”) and she is, as ever, terribly sought after but difficult to pin down.

Autorotation choreograph a lush electronic choral sensibility with progressive and percussive beats, disorientating washes of pedal-tones and natural warm acoustics, and all somehow within the confines of one ‘song’. There are no boundaries.

Their recent drum and bass cover of Lamb’s classic track Gabriel has been making a huge impression on the internet radio shows. It’s a song that fits perfectly within the sound of the exciting and engaging act.

243 Ida – Regular listeners to our radio show on DEFSYNTH.COM will know perfectly well how this band have utterly captured our hearts recently. This manchester based duo their London debut for us which marks possibly their furthest venture from manchester to date so it is indeed a very rare opportunity to see them. We promise you captivating songs and a spellbinding performance.

This is an act that is going places, you mark our words. Be there and know you saw them in such an intimate setting.

SAMUEL – Relatively new to the electronic scene this RnB influenced electronica artist made quite an impression on us when we saw him perform at an electronic music open mic night. A brilliant stage presence combined with beautiful songwriting and tender vocals.

While often expressive and subtle, Sam never forgets that music should be presented and performed. Often described as Depeche Mode meets Justin Timberlake this is a brilliant new artist that we think will be going places very soon.
